INTERNSHIP
In the summer of 2019, I interned at an interior design company in Fairfax, VA. Throughout my time there, I learned more than I ever could from a classroom. Some of my daily responsibilities included: notetaking for client and vendor meetings, measuring homes, drafting floorplans/elevations in AutoCAD, material and furniture selection, and installs.
GUEST BEDROOM PROJECT
At the end of my internship, I was given the opportunity to take over a project on my own. The project was a guest bedroom that needed a facelift. The most challenge task was overcoming a very tight budget. I was responsible for communicating and meeting with the client, contacting contractors, selecting furniture and finishes, putting the selections into a spec book, and drafting the floor plans and elevations.
